Why do I still have symptoms after completing my chlamydia treatment?

Chlamydia is easily cured with antibiotics and symptoms should subside by or before the completion of the antibiotic treatment. However, antibiotics do not repair any permanent damage done by the disease; hence symptoms of tissue damage may be possible. In addition, another STD (e.g. gonorrhea) could be causing symptoms, and treatment for that will also be required. Please consult your health care provider for follow up testing and/or treatment.
